Flexible Options Galore with the Affordable FlexCoder
Blonder Tongue will demonstrate the FlexCoder, which can be used as a stand-alone unit, or rack-mounted two across 1RU. The unit ships with three Modes of Operation, and offers an RF input board option for transcoding an 8VSB (digital off-air) or clear QAM channel to QAM, ASI, or IP.
- Mode 1: PASS-THRU converts ASI or IP video streams to QAM
- Mode 2: DEMUX (factory default) de-multiplexes MPTS to SPTS in MPEG-2 or H.264/H.265 formats
- Mode 3: MUX multiplexes SPTS to MPTS via IP and/or QAM in MPEG-2 or H.264/H.265 format
The possibilities are endless when it comes to integrating this product into a video distribution system, as it can transmodulate any physical layer and convert it to something else. By providing a wide-range of functionality in a compact solution, the FlexCoder brings remarkable cost savings. It is ideal for video labs and campus environments where custom channel line-ups are created for in-house distribution. The device also supports AC3, E-AC3, and AAC audio formats.
