Blonder Tongue’s new Flexcoder for AV professionals

Blonder Tongue Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE MKT:BDR) today announced that they will demonstrate its newly released FlexCoder at the 2016 InfoComm Show, June 8-10, in Booth N1846, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Blonder Tongue’s long awaited FlexCoder is now officially released.  This versatile solution combines edge QAM, off-air transcoding, and IP grooming technology into one integrated package.  By providing a wide-range of functionality in a compact solution, the unit brings remarkable cost savings.

The FlexCoder can be used in a stand-alone manner, or rack-mounted two across 1RU.  It will ship with three (3) Modes of Operation: (1) PASS-THRU Mode to convert ASI or IP video streams to QAM, (2) DEMUX Mode to de-multiplex MPTS MPEG-2 or H.264/H.265 to SPTS, and (3) MUX Mode, which multiplexes SPTS MPEG-2 or H.264/H.265 to MPTS via IP and/or QAM outputs.  An RF input option is available for transcoding 8VSB (digital off-air) to QAM, ASI or IP signals.

“The FlexCoder is an ideal solution for video labs and campus environments where custom channel line-ups are created for in-house distribution,” said Jeff Smith, Vice President of Sales at Blonder Tongue. “The possibilities are endless when it comes to integrating this product into a video distribution system, because it can transmodulate any physical layer and convert it to something else.  This device also supports AC3, E-AC3, and AAC audio formats.”
